This chamber “eats” part of the space of the liquid tank, but nevertheless, its volume remains impressive and is equal to the volume of the Waterpik WP-100 tank (600 ml).
Both models are quite stable and feel secure on the shelf in the bathroom. But additional stability of Revyline RL 500 is given by special suction cups, which “tightly” fix the case on the shelf, not giving even the slightest chance for unforeseen maneuver.
The pressure level regulators of the models are similar – large round switches. On the body of the Revyline RL 500, we find the “Massage” button, which is responsible for the operation of the device in hydromassage mode. The WP-100 does not have this feature. Meanwhile, gum massage is a convenient, and most importantly, useful function that allows you to strengthen gum tissue, activating metabolic processes in them, stimulating blood flow. When the “massage” function is turned on, the nature of the irrigator’s operation changes, the water jet becomes pulsating, and during each pulsation, the fluid pressure changes. Thus, there is a squeezing and weakening of the impact on the soft tissues of the gums, imitating traditional manual massage techniques.
Ultraviolet disinfection of nozzles
The Revyline RL 500 irrigator has a unique function – the disinfection of nozzles using ultraviolet radiation. The camera, which is located on the body of the device (which we talked about above), is equipped with an ultraviolet lamp. When the lamp is turned on in the chamber, atmospheric oxygen is split into atomic oxygen, which is an active oxidizing agent that destroys bacteria. A 15-minute treatment of the tips with ultraviolet light (quartzization) allows you to destroy up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses that are on the surface of the tips. The lamp turns off automatically after 15 minutes. Thus, sterile tips remain in the compartment, which can be used for cleaning without the risk of contamination.

Comparison of these models leads to an optimistic conclusion – progress in the market for oral hygiene products does not stand still and encourages consumers to choose more and more advanced hygiene protection tools. Of course, the Waterpik WP-100 model, popular all over the world, will still be in demand, despite the high price, but it is already obvious that devices appear on the market that are not only not inferior to it in terms of technical capabilities, but also surpass it in some indicators. At the same time, the cost of these irrigators is much lower.

Modern technology makes it possible to equip models with engines, the power of which is already comparable to those installed in stationary models. In our review today, we will look at two, perhaps the most striking and popular models of portable irrigators – Waterpik 450 and Revyline RL 200 XL. The first participant in our review was designed and manufactured by WaterPik, which has specialized in the production of irrigators for half a century.
The Russian company Revyline has been on the oral care market since 2013. She broke into this market quickly, forcing experts to talk about her as a serious player. A distinctive feature of products under the Revyline brand is the presence of features of each model that distinguish them from competitors, as well as high functionality and impressive technical characteristics.
Specifications
The ability of the irrigator to create a powerful water flow that can most effectively remove plaque not only from the surface of the teeth, but also from the interdental spaces and gum pockets is the most important characteristic, which often becomes decisive when choosing a model of irrigators. But it should be borne in mind that this is not the only indicator of the work of irrigators. To obtain a more objective assessment of the possibilities, consider the most significant characteristics of the models.
Construction, design, management
Both models look modern and stylish, but this is achieved by different solutions. The Waterpik 450 has classic body shapes and lines that continue to inspire other manufacturers to create similar models – the tank is recessed into the back of the body and looks like a large dripping drop. The liquid reservoir of the Revyline RL 200 XL is attached to the bottom of the case, thanks to which it was possible not only to increase its volume to 300 milliliters, but also to make the case itself more compact and convenient. In addition, the Revyline RL 200 XL liquid reservoir can be easily removed and it is possible to fill it with water not only from the side, but also from above, which expands the comfort of its operation.
The controls for both models are located in the usual place, which is convenient for the thumb. But if the American model uses slide switches, then the Russian model has more modern controls – buttons. When one of the three operating modes (normal, soft and pulsing) is selected, the corresponding light diode lights up.
conclusions
Both models make a very pleasant impression, both externally and in operation. But they are noticeably different not only in their appearance, but also in character. The power of the Revyline RL 200 XL is palpable and even during cleaning there is an involuntary desire to “remove the gas”. The unpreparedness of the gums for high levels of pressure of the water jet may affect. To do this, you need to adapt – gradually increasing power with each use of the irrigator.
The battery capacity of the models is approximately the same and lasts up to 14 days of use in the morning and in the evening for two minutes. But the battery charging of the Revyline RL 200 XL is noticeably faster, and, in addition, it can be charged via a USB cable from any electronic device.
The Waterpik 450 set of nozzles left a pleasant impression, and the travel case for the Revyline RL 200 XL left a pleasant impression.
Models differ significantly in cost. The reason, of course, is the marketing strategy of the companies. If Waterpik allows, thanks to its fame, to withstand a high level of prices, then the ambitious Revyline, on the contrary, adheres to a more friendly pricing policy, trying to keep the cost at a minimum level. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for the growing popularity among Russian consumers of goods under the Revyline brand.
