If the deposits and grease can no longer be removed during normal preventive cleaning, special cleaning can be carried out to effectively remove grease and deposits. In this case, you can use tools such as:
- baking soda;
- detergent for dishes;
- cleaning agent (for example, Selena).
Having chosen the right tool, you need to clean according to the following instructions:
- Remove all burners.
- Pour the surface of the gas stove with plenty of product and leave everything in this form for 15 minutes. Particular care must be taken to ensure that the agent gets into the areas where the burners were located.
- Rinse a sponge or cloth in water, and use it to remove the detergent from the surface of the stove.
- If after this the soot particles remain on the stove, then you need to treat them with moistened soda, or use a cleaning agent for these purposes.
- At the end, the stove must be wiped with a dry and clean cloth so that there are no streaks from the products used on the surface.

How to clean the grate of a gas stove?
When cleaning the grate of a gas stove, you will have to tinker if soot and grease have formed on it. But before you start cleaning, you should determine what material the grate is made of, because it will depend on how exactly you need to wash it:
Cleaning cast iron grates
Cast iron grates are the most difficult to clean due to the fact that they must be ignited. Without this procedure, it is unlikely that it will be possible to eliminate soot and fat. There are three ways to ignite the grate:
- keep on low heat over a gas stove;
- use blowtorch;
- ignite over a fire in a private area.
After annealing, the grate can be easily cleaned in a soapy solution. In no case should you peel off carbon deposits and fat with a knife or other sharp objects, as it is possible to damage the material, and then the life of the product will decrease.
There is a cleaning method using soda paste, which you will learn about from the video:
Cleaning of enamelled metal grates
Since these grates have a smooth surface, cleaning them is not difficult, and you can use one of the following methods:
- load the grate into the dishwasher;
- soak the grate in soapy water, then remove the dirt with a soft sponge and soda.
Steel grate cleaning
These grates are easiest to clean using dishwashing detergent:
- The grate should be soaked in soapy water. In order for the plate element to be completely immersed in water, it is best to do this in a bath.
- The floor should be covered with thick oilcloth, on which the grate is laid out and liberally treated with dishwashing detergent.
- In this form, the grate should lie overnight.
- In the morning, the grate should be rinsed with water to remove the remnants of detergent and dirt.

How and with what to wash a glass-ceramic stove
Glass-ceramic is a reliable and practical material, but it is extremely sensitive and fragile. Therefore, when cleaning, the following recommendations should be observed:
- Do not start cleaning the surface of the stove until it has cooled down. Firstly, you can get burns, and secondly, you can contribute to the formation of cracks on the glass ceramics by such actions.
- When washing such boards, do not use abrasive products, as they scratch the surface of the board.
- When choosing a cleaning agent, you need to pay attention that it has the inscription «For glass ceramics». And if there is no time to look for such a remedy, you can use dishwashing detergent or soda.
- If you need to deal with light stains in the form of coffee, oil splashes or compote, you can use soda and a scraper.
- Against complex stains in the form of “escaped” milk, special chemicals for glass ceramics are selected. In this case, trying to use something else is a waste of time and effort.
- If sugar stains form on the stove, then they must be dissolved in water before cleaning. Water in this situation copes with even the thickest layer of caramel.
Cleaning with a scraper
If the soot is particularly resistant, then you can clean it with a special scraper for glass-ceramic stoves:
- The stove must be disconnected from the power supply.
- Check if it has completely cooled down.
- Apply detergent to the surface of the stove.
- Go through with a scraper and a sponge dipped in warm water.
- Wipe the hob surface dry.
Soda against scale
If you use soda to clean glass ceramics, it is best to dilute it with water, as this will have a more gentle effect on the surface of the stove. Despite the fact that soda is similar in consistency to powder, it is not able to scratch the surface of glass ceramics. It is best to leave soda diluted in water on the stove for 10-20 minutes, and then remove it with a damp sponge.
Melamine sponge against grease
Many people underestimate the power of this sponge, but sometimes it copes with grease even better than detergents. This sponge is very easy to use:
- It should be soaked under cold water, squeezed out.
- Start rubbing the surface of the plate.
These sponges literally erase all the dirt from the glass ceramics like an eraser.
In the case of a glass-ceramic hob, it should be remembered that it will be much easier to clean it if this is done immediately after the stove has completely cooled down in order to avoid burns. The fresher the stain, the easier it is to deal with.
